As the game progresses to the mid and end game levels, a jungler’s reliance on buffs will taper off. It’s not as important for them to pick it up. At this point, the buffs are better utilized in the hands of the AD and AP players. It can often be tricky helping those players get the buffs.
For defensive purposes, pull the mob back into the nearby bush and kill them there. I’ve managed to steal buffs from enemies before by hiding in the bush and then using my Smite or an ability at the last second and then finishing off the champion. By staying in the bush, your awareness becomes that much higher and you eliminate one area that enemies can use to sneak up on you.
As the carry
Get yourself in position and start using your normal attacks. AD carries will take a little longer then most during the mid game since they don’t have all the high level items (unless they were fed). Use your abilities as much as often to nuke it down fast.
For example, as Ashe I’ll continually spam my Volley and my auto attack to get as much DPS on it as fast as possible. With Caitlyn, use your Q shot.
As the jungler
If you’re a jungler and you have a Wriggle’s Lantern or a Madred’s Razors, be careful as the minions get to low health. I typically peel off at the 10-15% health mark and let the other players use their own abilities. I know first hand how frustrating it can be whenever a jungler accidentally kills a minion and takes the buff.
Proc items have a habit of activating at the worst times. What would’ve otherwise have been a normal attack ends up triggering 500 damage (which is potentially lethal).
